Getting Ready For
Your Family Session

Hooray ! It’s almost time for your photo session ! The tips below are to help you arrive relaxed and ready to have fun.
  • Plan to arrive early and give yourself plenty of time to get to the location. I understand that getting everyone together and ready can be a stressful event, you will not be punished or scolded by this photographer for running behind schedule so please don't let this increase your stress on the day, just let me know your approximate arrival time. As timing affects available light, other spots at the location may be selected to maintain a gorgeous, beautifully lit background.
  • Feed everyone before leaving for the session
  • Brush, comb, hair pins if needed
  • Face powder (if needed for shine)
  • Extra clothes for little ones if you want outfit changes
  • Any mementos or special items you would like to include in the photos.
  • A blanket for the ground that you don’t mind having in the photos.
  • If you're wondering what to wear, the first choice should be whatever you're comfortable in! Coordinating outfits for the whole family can be an expensive and time-consuming process, don't be afraid to work with what you've already got in your closet. A simple palette with a neutral base color (cream, gray, tan, olive...) and a pop of a contrasting accent color is a great start. Please avoid large stripes and graphics/logos as these can detract from the real stars of the photos--you and your family!

Please do not bring chocolate candy or other foods that stick or stain for your children!
I will bring waters and non-staining, non-allergenic candy for kids and adults, because sometimes you need a little extra energy to keep up your awesomeness.

One last note: Allowing your children's personalities to shine is the point of the day and I will do my absolute best to bring out their beautifully genuine reactions. Don't stress if they're not smiling on cue, just sit back and enjoy the moment, I'll take it from there. So let’s play, let’s have fun, and there will be smiles and giggles aplenty!
